GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — On February 16, New Hampshire Auctions and Appraisals conducted its “Mid Winter Fine Arts & Americana Auction,” giving buyers far and wide the opportunity to bid on 200 lots of fine and decorative art, books, clocks, Asian works and Americana. The highest price realized — $13,200 — was achieved by a pair of Art Nouveau doors that featured Adam and Eve in gold paint against a dark background. Measuring 87 inches high by 33½ inches wide, the doors had been offered with an estimate of $1,5/2,500. According to Mike Reopel, a partner and auctioneer, the price included the buyer’s premium and the doors sold to a buyer in France. A forthcoming issue will feature a more extensive sale review.
