MANCHESTER, N.H. — Barn Star Productions regrets announcing it will be canceling the August 12, 2016, Pickers Market Antiques Show during Antiques Week in New Hampshire.

For the past 16 years, “Pickers” has been one of the most anticipated events of the week presenting a one-day event enjoyed by collectors and dealers alike.

Commented show producer Frank Gaglio, “We, along with hundreds of loyal Pickers Market customers and exhibitors are sad the Pickers Market will not take place this August as it contributed greatly to the week of events giving buyers one more reason to attend Antiques Week in New Hampshire. Our sincere thanks to all our friends who enjoyed the Pickers experience as much as we have and look forward to welcoming select Pickers Market dealers to our MidWeek in Manchester Show, August 10 and 11 now back in Manchester.” He added that several of those dealers have already committed to the MidWeek show. “We are still filling MidWeek and have some wonderful dealers on board; however, we may be mixing it up a bit this year, including some more adventurous and fun material, such as poster art from Nancy Steinbock for example,” he explained. “We believe the New Hampshire crowd will appreciate us augmenting the usual Americana theme.”

Gaglio also cited one of the main reasons for this cancellation is the date change of the Union, Maine, show, which traditionally followed Antiques Week in New Hampshire. Now that Union is the weekend before Antiques Week, many dealers commented they wanted to exhibit at the Pickers Market but believed they may not have enough fresh goods to show again the very next week in Manchester, “which we fully understood,” said the Rhinebeck, N.Y.,-based show promoter. “That said, if a show of exciting fresh pieces could not be presented, we decided to let the Pickers Market be remembered as a great, fun and exciting show that will be joyfully remembered by its slogan ‘End Your Week With A Great Antique.’

Meanwhile, Gaglio said, spring Rhinebeck is sold out.
