PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — Charlie Cobb’s September 24 sale included a selection of paintings by White Mountains artists and some important Charles Dickens items. The highlight of the day was a painting by Benjamin Champney (1817–1907), an oil on canvas of the “Prow,” a distinctive rock formation near his home in North Conway, N.H. It brought $14,400.
