NEW YORK CITY — Bidsquare’s inaugural themed auction Passport to the World features a curated collaboration of travel-inspired art, antiques and collectibles from New York dealers. The themed auction is currently open for bidding, live on Bidsquare until March 30. Featured New York galleries include Barbara Israel Garden Antiques, Elizabeth Street Gallery, Combray Gallery and Burden, among others.
With a travelogue theme, the sale invites shoppers to take a trip while browsing the auction, all from the convenience of their device. First step is to decide where one is heading, and there is a vintage globe or engraved or hand colored fabric maps from Rare Paper from which to choose.
“Next, pack up your suitcase!,” Bidsquare exhorts. “Travel in style, or back in time with vintage Louis Vuitton suitcases and trunks from A Second Chance. The boutique has been supplying the Upper East Side with divine, luxury goods from their Lexington Avenue location since 1993.”
Other featured lots in the sale include a French conceptual aircraft, circa 1900, a hand-crafted model airplane impressive in scale at 9 feet long; and for those who like to take in the scenery, terra-cotta jars and sculptures from Barbara Israel Garden Antiques.
