JACKSON, WYO. —The 9th annual Jackson Hole Art Auction September 18 fetched $6.5 million, led by Albert Bierstadt’s “Wind River Country, Wyoming,” a circa 1860 oil on canvas that attained $800,000. Bathed in a golden yellow light, the painting depicts the vastness and untouched spoils of the Wind River Range.
