POTSDAM, N.Y. — Blanchard’s Auction Service conducted its 16th Annual Premier Adirondack Auction on August 18 with almost 700 lots of fine art, furniture, canoes, Native American art and more. The top lot came from farther afield, a Black Forest carving of a spread-winged eagle that was bought online for $17,220. Estimated at only $750-$1,000, the surprising result surpassed Adirondack furniture by makers such as Gustav Stickley, Tom Benware and Barney Bellinger. More on these and other high-flying lots to follow.
