Chester Lauria of Chester’s Antiques & Metal Restoration died November 12; he had suffered a stroke ten months earlier. He was 83 years old.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., in 1927, Lauria has been a dealer and restorer of antique jewelry and silver for 40 years. With his business partner Audrey Flashner, Chester attended shows and conducted business under the name Chester’s Antique-Boutique, Mamaroneck, N.Y.
“Chester died while I was setting up for the Pier show, this November,” Flashner said. “We have always done the Pier show, and I think last year’s was his last show.”
Lauria is survived by his wife, four children and grandchildren and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and customers. There are no plans for a service at this time. Burial was private.
