DOWNINGTOWN, PENN. — Two sales, offered on consecutive days August 16 and 17, sent nearly 1,300 lots of toys, games, dolls and varied fine and decorative arts across Pook & Pook’s digital auction block. With a sell-through rate of more than 99 percent, the sales saw several highlights. The highest price was reached for a Chinese watercolor and silk scroll, which had been sold at Christie’s in 2008. Estimated at just $60-90, the lot received multiple requests for additional photos and condition reports. Once bidding reached $5,000, the field was left to just two bidders — one on PookLive, the other on Invaluable. In the end, the PookLive buyer prevailed, to win it for $23,940, including premium. Both sales will be explored in an upcoming issue.
