NEW YORK CITY — On October 25, Christie’s antiquities sale will offer 24 works from the property from the Toledo Museum of Art, sold to benefit the acquisitions fund. The collection features a selection of works from across ancient Greece, Rome, Near East and Egypt with highlights including a Cypriot limestone head of a male votary to an Egyptian bronze cat.
In addition, Christie’s online auction will offer additional 40 works from the Toledo Museum from October 19-26. This selection will feature antiquities with price points starting at $1,000 to $6,000. In total, the live and online sales will present more than 60 works dating from 3500 BCE to the Second Century.
The exhibition will be displayed concurrently with the antiquities sale preview, from October 21-24.
