The 35th annual New England Auto Auction, conducted on the grounds of The Owls Head Transportation Museum, got underway at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 25, with 168 four-wheel lots in the offering. The sale was approximately 75 percent sold and grossed $1.36 million.
Lot 95 was the top offering of the day, a 1947 Chrysler Town and Country convertible, pictured as it was being sold, that brought $96,000; a 1930 La Salle Series 340 Fleetwood Phaeton was the runner-up at $74,500.
The sale was very well attended and a complete review will appear in a forthcoming issue of Antiques and The Arts Weekly.
