NEW YORK CITY – Frank Bernarducci and Louis K. Meisel will host a second show at their new 57th Street Gallery: solo exhibitions by contemporary realist artists Dennis James Martina and Daniel Tennant. The exhibitions remain on view through December 2.
Martin has shown with Louis K. Meisel since 1994, including three solo exhibitions. His use of 24 karat and gold platinum point on paper is a combination of observation, meticulous technique and precious metals. Whether defining a human nude or a flower shape, Martin analyses the natural form and interprets it in chiaroscuro strokes.
Tennant is an painter of classical gouache still lifes. He has shown in New York City since 1991 including sold-out solo shows in SoHo. Inspired by the brightly colored, dense compositions of Photorealist master Audrey Flack, Tennant utilizes the medium of gouache to capture complicated still-life compositions of his own design.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5:30 pm, or by appointment. For information, 212/593-3757.
