DALLAS — Heritage Auctions conducted its Curated Home Signature sale on February 24, offering more than 300 lots of fine furnishings. Of the many pairs and sets of decorative arts that were bid to success, a pair of Louis XVI-style commodes reigned over the assembled lots. Modeled after originals in Versailles crafted by Henri Riesener, the marble top commodes showed exquisite marquetry between their gilt-mounted swags and applied statuary. The commodes achieved $47,500 and will receive more coverage, along with other winning lots in an upcoming issue.
