WILLISTON, VT. — “We had an amazing sale with some excellent numbers,” according to Duane Merrill & Co., which presented a two-day Vermont estate antiques auction on January 28 and 29.
The auction was a one-owner estate auction descending in the Bingham family of Cornwall, Vt., and New York City. Some of the items of note in the sale were a Fort Edward “Wedding Cake House” 5-gallon crock, which brought $20,700, including premium, a St Paul’s School Isthmian baseball uniform that slid across the plate at $7,800 and two Ann Congdon (American, 1873-1958) paintings, which brought $12,000 and $5,400.
