LARCHMONT, N.Y. — An embroidery work by Alighiero Boetti (Italian, 1940–1994) tited “Udire Tra Le Parole,” attained $45,000, including the 25 percent buyer’s premium February 28 at Clarke Auction Gallery. The work, signed in ink and numbers 9/45, measures 11¾ by 11¼ inches. Fine art also performed well in the sale, led by four oil paintings by Isaac Holtz that each sold well over high estimate and together brought $120,000.
A complete report on the sale will follow.
