(5) Lowell Nesbitt (New York, 1933 – 1993) Large Paintings, including one monumental
painting titled “Seven Electric Flowers, 1976” which measures 84 inches x 160 inches. This painting was featured in the April 1977 edition of Architectural Digest Magazine which featured a story about Lowell Nesbitt’s studio. Nesbitt’s studio became a popular gathering place for major art world figures, celebrities and dignitaries including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana, Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, Larry Rivers and James Rosenquist. This monumental space was featured in articles in the New York Times, the Washington Post and Architectural Digest Magazine in the late 1970s.
