Many of the articles in this auction are from two Newport mansions in the now inaccessible
Salt Marsh area of Ocean Drive.
Esoteric items include Etrurian figures in relief, Caldwell sconces, Oriental panels, easels, marbletop fireplace surrounds, Asian lacquered bamboo furniture, set of Greenlands, Ltd. (Hereford) chairs, many palace carpets (some are distressed), exceptionally-carved kas, three New England tallclock cases and two bowfront chests.

An additional feature of this sale is a collection of bottles from a Newport museum, dredged from the harbor many years ago in the restoration of Long Wharf.
