Important Old Master, Modern and Contemporary prints and drawings will be presented at a Winter Associates Inc. auction on Monday June 28 at 5:30pm EST. All periods of graphic art history and major mediums will be included. Notable old master highlights include Rembrandt’s “ Jews in a Synagogue” (Boon-White 126, ii/III); Lucas Van Leyden “A Lady in the Woods” (Bartsch 146); Jacques Callot “Balli di Spessania” -the complete set Lieure 379-402.; Martin Schongauer “St. Thomas” (Bartsch 44, Only state); Adriaen van Ostade “The Singers” (Godefroy 19); and Albrecht Durer “Coat of Arms With A Lion and a Cock” (Meder 97, a-b) as well as other artists from the 16th through 18th century from Italy, France, The Netherlands, Germany and Flanders. Distinguished works from the 19th and early 20th century are: Emma Bormann “Split, Marjan”; Gerald Brockhurst “Uma” (Fletcher 65), Felix Buhot, “Un Vieux chantier à Rochester” and “Les Grandes Chaumieres” Bourcard/Goodfriend 147, ii/III and B/G 150, iii-iv/VI), Lovis Corinth “Self-Portrait with Male Model” (Schwarz 298); Eugène Delatre “Une Parisienne” (Zmelty 12); John Marin “Santa Maria della Salute” (Zigrosser 53); Sir Jacob Epstein “Jackie in a Plain Lace Collar Shirt”; Maxime Lalanne –several impressions; Henri deToulouse-Lautrec “La Modiste, Renée Vert” (Wittrock 4, i/II ); Henri Matisse “Le Repos du modèle” ( Duthuit 416); and a drawing attributed to Camille Pissarro, “Pontoise (?)”. Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Antonio Clavé, Salvador Dali, Paul Guiramand, Lucien Neuquelman, Joan Miro, and Pablo Picasso headline the significant contemporary offerings.
Many of the works in the sale have past and current significant provenance from major private collections, many with collectors’ marks recorded in the indispensable Frits Lugt catalogue. Well-known artists collected by major collectors and found in museum collections in North America and Europe will be represented.

Customers who wish to preview items in person are welcome to view on Friday, June 25th from 10 am – 4 pm; Sunday, June 27th from 2 – 4 pm; and Monday, June 28th from 11 am – 5 pm.
