NEW YORK CITY — On July 25 at noon, Auctions at Showplace will offer 280 lots of estate merchandise from the New York City and metropolitan area.

Highlights of the auction begin with a work by Sandford Gifford titled “Landscape at Sunset.” This oil on board is signed and dated on the lower left “S.R. Gifford ‘69” and depicts a river landscape at sunset in the Hudson River School tradition. Featured lots continue with a Leonardo Nierman abstract acrylic painting on Masonite. Highlights conclude with a Faberge 14K gold and ruby Maltese Cross egg pendant. This antique rose gold ovoid body egg motif pendant features the Maltese cross with a 2mm round cabochon ruby and bears the maker’s initials “56 AP” on the loop bail.

Featured fine art includes an oil on panel by Andre Dauchez titled “Le Moulin De Pendreff.” The signed work depicts an idyllic landscape featuring a windmill and cottages. This tranquil work is juxtaposed by Reiji Kimura’s mixed media on canvas work titled “#263.” The abstract, collage-style canvas features a monochrome and textured finish and is signed and numbered on the reverse along the stretcher bar. Fine art continues with Allen Tucker’s oil on canvas titled “Autumn” with a label from ACA American Heritage Gallery, Inc. (New York City) on verso. The sale also includes a 1980 lithography by Alice Neel titled “Man in Harness,” lithograph numbered 27 out of 100.

African art highlights include two lots of rare Malian Bamana Chiwara antelope headdresses. Both Bamana Chiwara female ceremonial headdresses are carved from wood, dating to the late Nineteenth/early Twentieth Century, and depict an oryx antelope and a standing female figure, decorated with applied metal and shell.

Decorative art highlights begin with a five-piece modern silver tea service by William DeMatteo. This sterling silver service features a teapot, coffee pot, cream pitcher, covered sugar bowl and tray, all with lightly hammered finish and calla lily motif. Featured lots continue with a large Sergio Rodrigues “Cuiaba” jacaranda wall mirror featuring round cutouts at the corners. Decorative art highlights conclude with an Art Nouveau cameo glass table by Emile Galle. This green and yellow glass boudoir lamp is decorated with fruit, floral and foliate details, and bears the signature of Emile Galle on the base and accompanying shade.

The sale includes a collection of Midcentury Modern furniture, including two Warren Platner for Knoll Midcentury Modern occasional tables and two Arne Norell “Ari” lounge chairs by Norell, Sweden, featuring leather cushions with straps on steel frame. The collection continues with a pair of Michel Arnoult Brazilian Midcentury Modern stools with jacaranda wood frames and checkered linen upholstery. Next is a round T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings for Widdicomb Midcentury Modern maple extension dining table that extends to add up to three leaves and a Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb maple sideboard with three cupboard doors and round column leg details. Lighting includes a Venini Italian Midcentury Modern three-tier chandelier with clear and amber glass prisms suspended on a chrome base and a Cedric Hartman Midcentury Modern brass floor lamp with an adjustable swing arm.

Jewelry includes a pair of antique Russian 14K rose gold and silver topped diamond and blue enamel scroll design cufflinks with filigree details, set with 46 rose cut diamonds. Also featured is a pair of vintage Orianne Collins 14K/22K yellow gold 1911 US $2.50 Indian gold quarter eagle coin cufflinks.

Featured luxury goods and costume jewelry include a vintage Hermes Kelly gold-tone plated padlock wristwatch with original Hermes red lizard leather strap bracelet serial number# 851407. The sale also includes clothes and handbags by Missoni, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar De La Renta, Oscar De La Renta and Bottega Veneta.
