ST PETERSBURG, FLA. — October 17 is the date set for Burchard Galleries’ Fall Extravaganza. This sale will be a larger than normal auction with about 90 percent no reserve, estate-fresh treasures from around the state of Florida. Bidding takes place in person, by phone or absentee bidding as well as live bidding through two online platforms.
Featured in the sale are several collections to include an Indian pottery collection, gold and silver coins and an art knife collection, plus works by Tommy Overeynder, Henry H. Frank, Jess Horn, Jack Busfield, Greg Littl and Joe Kious, to name a few.

As usual, the sale will also be filled with American and European paintings and bronzes, including an estate representation of the Florida Highwaymen, including Al Hair, Sam Newton and M.A. Carroll.
A recent surge in furniture consignments will be sure to delight collectors and dealers, with a focus on contemporary and midcentury design. Makers include Paul Evans, Warren Plattner, Charles Eames, Milo Baughman, Knoll and Roche Bobois, with a sprinkling of Danish Modern. An Art Deco assortment of furnishings will also be offered, with an early burlwood dining table and chairs, several bars and several pieces by Stickley.

Also worth mentioning is a lifelong collection of advertising tins and store displays, bronzes after Remington, early toys, a Kodak Century Studio camera and a Seeburg “Trashcan” jukebox, a Nippon collection, Chinese porcelains, as well as a substantial assortment of estate jewelry with names like Bvlgari, Schlumberger and fancy yellow diamonds, just in time for the holidays.
