*KENNEBUNK, MAINE — J.J. Keating Auctioneers, whose first auction was in 1946, will conduct its final auction on Saturday, October 16, at 10 am in the firm’s gallery.
To be sold are ship paintings by James E. Buttersworth, John Loos, S.F.M. Badger and other noted artists, many Maine-related. There will be a varied selection of scrimshaw teeth, antique half models, spyglasses, octants, sextants and other nautical choices.
A Colt model 1895 Navy revolver and Eighteenth Century blunderbuss are of great interest.
The sale will have a selection of decorated stoneware, advertising, ephemera and country material. Art includes an Abbott Graves oil on canvas, Ehrig, Lahee, etc., seascapes, etchings, illustrations and prints.
Bronzes, Oriental items, a Pedro Friedeberg clock and sculptures are on the block as well.
A scale model steam locomotive will be sold, as well as Lionel, Ives and American Flyer train sets.
