ELIOT, MAINE — Boyd Auctions is selling the property of a New Castle, N.H., estate in an antique estates auction scheduled for Tuesday, March 1. The online-only auction starts at 1 pm on LiveAuctioneers.
The sale, which also includes many items from Kennebunk and York, Maine, estates, offers a wide selection of sterling silver, estate jewelry, Oriental rugs, artwork, china and furnishings.
Highlights include a pair of Boston fire buckets from Isaac Mead, dated 1800. The black-painted buckets with red edge, feature a front painted with a scene showing a white urn with large “W” on the front, all inside a scrolled frame, the top inscribed “Protection In Danger,” The bottom inscribed “Isaac Mead,” the back marked twice with makers mark “I. Fenno” in a sunken cartouche.
Also offered will be an Edwardian 6.5-carat diamond crescent brooch; sterling silver tea service; an Arctic painting by Rene-Yves Creston (1898-1964); a Shirvan Oriental carpet, 4 by 5 feet; and a New England banjo clock with a Willards patent.
Further highlights feature a Kazak Caucasian Oriental carpet; a Caucasian Oriental carpet with a rust field; a sterling silver water pitcher; and an English brass-bound mahogany campaign chest.
