HUDSON, N.Y. — On March 5, Public Sale Auction House will conduct an online antiques auction titled “Wander/Luster” — “Those who wander will likely lust/and all that glitters is not gold plated.”
“Wander/Luster” will feature an assortment of furniture, artwork, lighting, architectural pieces, rugs, taxidermy, toys, coins and jewelry.
The furniture offerings will represent a wide range of eras and styles, some dating back to the Eighteenth Century, including pieces from the Empire, Regency, Primitive, Victorian, Arts and Crafts and Art Deco eras. Accompanying the furniture will be a selection of antique rugs and artwork, including several oil paintings. A collection of taxidermy birds and animals will also be up for auction in “Wander/Luster.”
The March 5 auction will also represent a few local antique toy collections highlighted by Fernand Martin and Victor Bonnet pieces. The toy section will also include a French growler bulldog toy and a Roullet et Decamps rabbit-in-cabbage mechanical toy. A large horse-drawn, cast iron fire pumper truck — the proceeds from the sale of which will be donated to the local firefighter recruitment fund — will also be for sale.
A lifelong costume jewelry collection with a strong focus on Trifari will be up for auction, representing the “Luster” side of “Wander/Luster.” And, from the same estate, a coin collection of primarily British coins and tokens will cross the block.
The “Wander/Luster” auction will be conducted online at noon. An in-person preview will be open every day from February 26 to March 5 from 10 am to 5 pm.
