COPAKE, N.Y. — Copake Auction will conduct an unreserved online estate auction March 19 at 10 am. This sale features 780 lots. Featured in this auction will be session three of the Myron and Carolyn Neugeboren collection featuring quilts, baskets, period furniture and accessories, as well as contemporary folk art by well-known modern artists.
Bidding will be available at www.copakeauction.com, www.liveauctioneers.com, www.invaluable.com and www.auctionzip.com. The gallery received approximately 1,000 objects from the Neugeboren collection (first group was offered New Year’s Day). According to Mike Fallon, there are at least two more sessions and possibly three. This upcoming sale comprises many estates from the tri-state region. With the local real estate boom, the gallery has been busier than ever.
From the Neugeboren collection will be 22 quilts, 50 antique baskets, period furniture accessories and more. Folk art from the collection includes names such as Gil Russell, Gina Hosfeld, Evelyn and John Dubiel, Barbara Strawser, Lester Breininger, J. Linder and more.
The auction features approximately 200 pieces of artwork, including original oil paintings by many listed artists, lithographs, prints, World War II posters and more. Also included will be early metalware, primitives, collectibles, toys and more. Furniture includes Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century period examples, as well as midcentury, decorative, custom and more. Also included will be a pewter collection, glass and china, stoneware, sterling silver and more. An item of curiosity will be a hot-air balloon basket. The gallery will offer 21 Oriental rugs, lighting and various home furnishing accessories.
In-house previews will be Thursday and Friday, March 17-18, 10 am until 4 pm.
Copake Auction is at 266 Route 7A. For more information, www.copakeauction.com or 518-329-1142.
