BOONTON, N.J. — “Select,” a three-day online auction is being presented by Millea Bros, offering a wide range of art, design and antiques sourced from prominent New York area estates.
May 18 is devoted to Modern and contemporary art and design, jewelry and fashion. Modern art highlights include a Fernand Leger gouache from a corporate art collection, a published two-sided Alberto Giacometti drawing, artworks from the collection of Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason, and Constructivist drawings by Florence Henri and Lazar Khidekel, and photography, including William Wegman from the collection of a media executive. Design highlights include an early George Nakashima free-edge sideboard, two Folke Bensow Swedish Art Deco iron tables, Secessionist design, including a rare pair of Josef Hoffmann side chairs, a Modernist tapestry by John Coburn and a signed lacquered game board by Jean Dunand. Modern lighting features pieces by Felix Agostini, Arredoluce, Carlo Nason and a monumental Henri Fernandez “Grande Palma” floor lamp. The day ends with modern fashion and jewelry, including three vintage Mariano Fortuny evening gowns.
May 19 will feature American, European art and antiques and carpets. Fine art highlights include a Pierre-Auguste Renoir oil on canvas “Bather” study from a private New York collection, and a circa 1850 Edward William Cooke landscape of the Villa Borghese. Antiques include a collection of rare Art Nouveau Rozenburg eggshell porcelains, a group of Seventeenth Century English and French furniture from the collection of a French newspaper publisher, a Victorian Holland & Sons partners’ desk removed from a British royal residence, signed period French Louis XV furniture from a Fifth Avenue, New York, apartment and Russian Empire furnishings from New York City. An assortment of antique carpets include rare Bessarabian rugs and Persian carpets from the collection of a media executive.
Asian arts, tribal arts, antiquities and silver are featured on May 20. Examples of African, Oceanic and Pacific Northwest objects from the Faith and Martin Wright collection will be on offer. Highlights include an important Aleut chief hunting hat, two Nineteenth Century Haida raven rattles and a monumental figurative feast bowl. Chinese art highlights include a large Ming-era portrait fresco, carved jades and a Qing-era export pedestal desk from Park Avenue. Objects from the wide-ranging collection of a media executive include antique Chinese silk robes, an Eighteenth Century thangka painting, a massive, ancient Roman mosaic and ancient Roman gold signet ring.
Doors will be open for preview on Monday, May 16, from 11 am to 7 pm, Tuesday, May 17, from 11 am to 5 pm, Wednesday, May 18, from 9 am to 5 pm, Thursday, May 19, from 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday, May 20, 9 to 10 am.

Other highlights include a fine George Nakashima sideboard, Camille Faure enamel vases, and massive Felix Agostini ‘Titus’ sconces. The day ends with three vintage Mariano Fortuny evening gowns.
Day 2 offers American and European art and antiques featuring a Pierre-Auguste Renoir oil Bather study from a park Ave estate, an 1850 Edward Cooke painting of the Villa Borghese, and an Albert Herter society portrait. Fine antiques include period 17th c. English and French furniture from a publishing magnate, Art Nouveau Rozenburg porcelains, and a Holland & Sons partners desk, ex-British Royal residence.
Day 3 showcases Asian and Tribal Arts including museum quality examples of African, Oceanic, and Pacific Northwest objects from the Faith & Martin Wright Collection. Chinese arts include Ming and Qing era porcelains, jades, and huanghuali furniture and an ancient painted fresco. Objects from a Media Executive’s Collection include Pre-Columbian textiles, antique Chinese embroidered robes, and a massive Ancient Roman mosaic.
