From the Old Saybrook estate comes a Jamie Wyeth watercolor, “Landscape with Boiler,” which was given to a member of the family by the Pennsylvania artist in the 1960s. An example is a pair of 15-inch-high Chinese porcelain vases, with figural decoration of Daoist immortals in famille rose enamels, as well as a pair of 4-inch-high Chinese porcelain yellow glazed beehive-form water coupes, Qing dynasty, with Kangxi reign marks on base. Other Asian items to be offered include Oriental carpets, an elaborately carved Chinese center table, large, framed embroidery, woodblock prints, watercolors, snuff bottles, etc.
An assortment of deaccessioned European and American furniture and art will cross the block to benefit the Slater Memorial Museum’s acquisition fund, which serves the students of the Norwich Free Academy and the Norwich, Conn., community.
