PHILADELPHIA — Kamelot Auctions has announced a week of July sales, kicking off Tuesday, July 19, with a jewelry and handbags sale; on Wednesday, July 20, modern Interiors, chic, bamboo and rattan; and Thursday, July 21, seeing a sale of estate furniture and decorative arts.
The handbag and jewelry sale, offered with no reserves, features a selection curated from the estate of a Montgomery County, Penn., lady. Passionate about collecting, the consignor lovingly amassed a large assortment of handbags, jewelry and shoes throughout a lifetime of European travels.
Understated with length, a Marco Bicego Jaipur 18K yellow gold necklace has an estimate of $300/500. This necklace complements any neckline and can be casually worn solo or paired with 18K yellow gold and diamond Etruscan-style earrings for a statement look fitting any formal event.
A Gucci Jackie bamboo black leather bag, showcases Gucci’s innovative integration of bamboo in response to World War II material shortages. Bidders can watch the clock with a unique vintage Bulova watch with Ann Allen sterling gold-plated colored stone bracelet, a partnership of practicality and style with an estimate of $100/200. Starting the sale with an estimate of $1,5/2,000 is a Louis Vuitton mini speedy multicolor black monogram bag. Designed to be the city girl’s essential since the 1930s, it is the modern take on a classic for the Twenty-First Century woman. A Chanel Cambon pochette quilted leather bag is a must-have addition to any personal handbag collection ($400/600).
July 20 will see Kamelot’s modern interiors session. With summer in full swing, bidders can lie back and relax in a French rattan chair that converts to a chaise lounge ($500/800). If dinner parties are more your speed, host in style with a curved French rattan bar counter with matching stools. Invite guests inside to sit and sip in comfort with a pair of French Art Deco club chairs in red leather circa 1960 ($800-$1,200). On evenings of rest and relaxation, tuck into a bird’s-eye maple faux bamboo full-size bed, circa 1880. Upgrade any bedroom to boudoir with an elegant painted and gilt four-panel carved room divider, circa 1960. Both fun and sophisticated, this piece has an estimate of $600/900.
Those seeking to add poise to one’s home should look no further than Kamelot’s July 21 sale featuring a wide selection of estate furniture and decorative arts. Bring light into any space with a brass and glass chandelier in the manner of Osler having four arms and glass shades ($500/700). A painted and gilt Louis XVI-style settee with recent upholstery invites one to cozy up with a late night read ($1/1,500). Kamelot has on offer an array of classic literature, such as a 30-volume set in leather binding of the The Works of Anatole France ($100/200). Finishing touches include a large eight-sided Venetian-style etched glass mirror ($700/900).
