SARASOTA, FLA. — The highlight of Amero Auctions’ January 8 sale is an important Tiffany Nasturtium motif leaded glass table lamp with a rare, stunning bronze and Favrile glass ball base, gleaned from a St Augustine, Fla., private collection. Of same provenance are two stellar Tiffany table clocks, dragonfly screen and many additional fine Tiffany pieces.

Next, we are excited to present not one, but two, individually curated Alexander Calder original gouache and ink on paper works authenticated by the Calder Foundation, NY. A Willem de Kooning abstract charcoal on vellum, personally inscribed, comes to us from the owner of one of the Calder works.

Additional art offerings include a Martha Walter oil “Morning at Shinnecock,” oil by Ernest Lawson (one of “The Eight”), and a William Lester Stevens harbor scene.

Also featured in this versatile New Year sale are a pair of large Chinese enamel vases decorated with Buddhist symbols, many other fine Asian accessories, important period furnishings from the Bonaparte family, an impressive offering of English Regency, Regence and Continental furniture notably a commode au vantaux, and an ormolu Sevres meuble d’appui attributed to Henry Dasson. Modern furniture will include Edward Wormley and Paul McCobb. Enhancing the accessories is a 100-piece sterling Georg Jensen Cactus pattern flatware service, which teams with other fine silver and estate gold jewelry, crowned by a Faberge bowenite frog. Introducing a fresh-to-the-market collection of a dozen bronze sculptures which were acquired from the estate of Sarasota area sculptor Anne Van Kleeck.
