MANCHESTER, VT. — An auction consisting of the property of the late Charles “Buzz” Eichel, a longtime Manchester resident, is being presented as an online-only timed sale by Nathan Auction, closing on January 31 at 7 pm, with bidding through Invaluable.com.
Eichel was a well-known and highly respected lawyer and antiques lover/collector and fisherman. He had a fondness for the local Vermont artists whose careers flourished while he lived with them in Manchester. These include Ogden Pleissner, 12 lots; Luigi Lucioni, six lots; Dean Faucett, one lot; Reginald Marsh, one lot; Jay Hall Connaway, one lot; and others.
When Eichel passed away 10 years ago, his collections were auctioned off. The items that remained, which are featured in this auction, were retained by his wife who has now chosen to sell them. Also, the sale will offer property of a longtime Vermont antiques collector together with selected works from the estate of Raymond S. Jackson, a New York City attorney whose Gramercy Park apartment housed these paintings for many years.
