Gaudreaus Auction Company has been consigned to sell the partial contents of the Diment-Sandberg estate located in Hampton, CT. We have moved these items to our hall for the convenience of everyone involved.

NOTE: The following Saturday (May 20th), we will be selling the original modern artwork from the same estate, once again, at our gallery. That sale will include several rare and important pieces of original artwork done by world renowned modern and at times controversial artist, Luis Jimenez. Jimenez was a close family friend for many years and used the Sandberg-Diment studio while visiting them in Connecticut on several occasions. The other artwork includes many, large, brightly painted, very attractive modern pieces of art that although a writer by trade, Mr. Sandberg-Diment accomplished these pieces in his own studio in Hampton, CT. We look forward to seeing you at both of these fine sales.
IMPORTANT ITEMS: Heavily carved 19th century Qing dynasty Chinese fortune chest with original brass hardware. This chest measures 23 ½” tall x 40” long x 22 ¼” wide. Five (5) panels are exquisitely carved with various subject matter. The sellers grandfather purchased and shipped this wonderful chest home while visiting China in the mid-1900s; Very unusual, fancy, hand carved and rare, 19th century Austrian 45 drawer cigar humidor
closet that stands nearly 6’ tall and has a figural carved crest along with to carved panel drawers. This humidor was shipped to the U.S. when they moved from Austria in the 1930’s (please see auctionzip page for more details and photos); Two (possibly) 17th
century Turkish or Malaysian long guns with fancy brass bands (59” long and 76” long), both would make beautiful mantle pieces and are very rare; several vintage oriental rugs of various sizes plus other floor coverings; small size marble and bronze bust of
young girl marked “Poeme”; A few quality pieces of framed Asian artwork and scrolls; two (2) beautifully framed European paintings from the 19th century. The first painting is of a castle style dwelling on a knoll near a still river in the foreground and people
walking along a path. The second painting is of people at a mountain spring gathering water in vessels, out of a granite pool near a small granite building.
