BEVERLY, MASS. — After a successful June onsite auction in Gloucester, Mass., Kaminski Auctions will continue its summer auction schedule with a one-day auction on Saturday, July 22, at the firm’s auction gallery at 117 Elliot Street, followed by a two-day August auction, Saturday and Sunday, August 19 and 20.
The July 22 auction features an extensive collection of jewelry from a Maine estate and more than 40 US and French gold coins from a West Palm Beach, Fla., estate. There is also a selection of European furniture and paintings from a Connecticut estate, Persian rugs and Asian porcelains from various New England estates.
Highlights of the jewelry collection include a Tiffany & Co. 18K gold and platinum diamond ring with GIA report, a 14K gold, yellow sapphire and diamond ring, an 18K gold, sapphire and cabochon emerald ring and a 14K gold South Sea pearl and Tahitian black pearl and diamond ring. Among the other lots are an 18K gold Italian pendant with ruby of the Blessed Mother, an 18K gold bracelet with Greek key design and a Tiffany Paloma Picasso 18K gold Sugar Stack ring, as well as a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date gold 18K watch,
Silver in the sale includes a combined set of Hepplewhite and Eighteenth Century Reed & Barton flatware and a Mappin & Webb sterling flatware set engraved R.E.C.
A unique coin collection from a West Palm Beach estate includes more than 40 gold coins, including an 1857-S Double Eagle $20 gold coin, an 1879-S Liberty $20 gold coin, an 1899 Liberty Coronet Head $20 and 1881 Coronet Head gold Eagle $10 coin and a 1908 and 1912 St Gaudens $20 gold coin, among others.
Fine art offerings include a John Fery oil on canvas of Glacier National Park valued at $4/6,000, a Peter Hurd (American, 1904-1984) Taos scene, oil on board from a Singer Island, Fla., collection ($3/5,000) and several paintings by Evelyn Wallace from a West Palm Beach estate. There is also a Salvador Dali, drypoint on Japanese paper, signed in pencil, titled “Les Amours de Cassandre,” and dated 1968 with a certificate #59/299.
European art in the auction includes a pair of French courting paintings, oils on canvas and several A. Carrier bronzes, including one of Albrecht Durer and Rembrandt. There is also a Frederic Remington bronze titled “The Mountain Man.”
European furniture from a southern Connecticut collection features a French Napoleon marquetry desk with bronze mounts, a pair of French six-drawer marble top tall chests, an Eighteenth Century French carved chest and a classical French Louis XVI upholstered settee. The collection also has a French dore bronze centerpiece with cherubs on dolphins.
There is also an English Nineteenth Century classical Empire cheval mirror, an early Nineteenth Century decorated English desk and three game tables, including an Eastlake Victorian Oak gambling table and a rare Eighteenth Century Chippendale mahogany card table.
Asian highlights include an ancient Chinese carved giltwood Buddha, a Chinese carved wooden eight-panel screen, an antique Chinese altar table, a pair of antique cloisonne vases and a pair of Nineteenth Century Chinese ancestral portraits. There is also a selection of Asian porcelain.
A Cochiti silver concho belt by Cippy Crazy Horse with nine conches and buckle that was initially purchased for $12,000 and two antique coffee grinders from a Lawrence estate, one-floor model, American #18 dated 1873, and an Enterprise #2, dated 1872 are among the other items up for auction.
