MEDWAY, MASS. — Coyle’s Auction will offer a live two-session antique estates auction on Tuesday, October 24. The auction will include an eclectic mix of American antiques, Midcentury Modern and other furniture, artwork, art pottery, porcelain, bronzes, sterling silver and much more drawn from a stately Newport, R.I., home, a Boston area collector, Hingham, Brookline, Sherborn and Hopkinton homes, together with selected additions. Hundreds of fresh-to-the-market offerings will be offered with no reserves and no internet bidding.

Session I, featuring rugs and curiosities, begins at 2:30 pm with Oriental rugs and estate lots of interesting items as part of a curiosity auction.

Highlighting the Session II estates auction beginning at 5 pm are Midcentury Modern items, including a signed “Mobler” Denmark teakwood credenza with glass sliding doors, a Peter Lovig Neilson partner’s desk with lift top, Joe Baisuck bronze/iron wall sculpture, MCM art, etc.

Furniture includes an antique burled walnut three-drawer Continental commode with ornate hardware, set of four black ebonized Regency-style chairs with gilt sphinx figures, two signed Beacon Hill for Sacks serpentine dressers, marquetry inlaid furniture, including an oval one-drawer stand with brass feet and six dining chairs. Country antique furniture and accessories include a two-part stepback cupboard, two antique jacquard homespun coverlets signed G. Heibronn Lancaster O. 1845 (blue and white) and a David Stauch 1836 H. Stoner in red and blue with eagles, high back Conant and Ball bench, etc.

A group of eight lots of Amphora art pottery from a Boston area collection will be offered, including a rare 15-inch bowl with monkey sitting on edge with inset stones Riessner and Kessel, 10-inch Imperial Turn vase with ornate bird and inset stones, two Amphora Semiramis vases with inset stones and other examples.

Decorative estate accessories will include three Chinese terracotta equestrian figural roof ornaments, 9-inch base and ball bronze Chelsea “Constitution” ship’s bell clock, sterling, including a pair of engraved NY Yacht Club candlesticks for winner “Weetamoe,” 1931, and a 30-inch bronze “Arab on Horseback” signed Barye.

Artwork from Newport and other homes will include a signed Bruce Crane oil on canvas titled “The Waning Year,” 14 by 20 inches; “Path to the Beach” watercolor signed John S. Goodall, 6 by 8 inches; two hand colored mezzotints “An Emblem of Asia and An Emblem of Africa” April 12, 1800; A. Testi #30 Leather Lane London 14 by 9¾ inches; pencil-signed Thomas Hart Benton “White Calf” lithograph; and other signed and unsigned art.
