ESSEX, MASS. – Blackwood-March Auctioneers has scheduled an estates online fine arts auction for 11 am on Saturday January 6. Featured in this sale are estate collections of historic and contemporary Cape Ann and New England artworks. Prominent in the sale is a rare view of Gibraltar by Charles Temple Dix (1838-1873), who was born in New York and traveled to Italy and was celebrated for his paintings of Gibraltar.
Historic Cape Ann school artworks include works by Harry Vincent, Antonio Cirino, Emile A. Gruppe, Tod Lindenmuth, George Wainwright Harvey, Walt Kuhn and Nell Blaine among others as well as 17 works by Alfred Czerepak. Contemporary Cape Ann painters are well represented by works by Jeff Weaver, John Terelak, Rosalie Sitoti, Ken Knowles and John Cagianno.
Included in the sale is a collection of Chinese export china and estate jewelry.
