Blackstone Valley Auctions and Estates is pleased to announce the offering of the Woodard Collection of Arts and Antiques.
Francoise and Clark Woodard began collecting antiques early in their marriage, attending many auctions in rural Maryland and Pennsylvania. Upon Clark’s retirement and relocation to Beacon Hill in Boston, they began their antiques business. Part of the fun was traveling regularly to France to buy “smalls” for their business. Francoise continued the business after Clark’s death 20 years ago. She could often be found in the first row of many auctions held throughout New England. Francoise passed away last June, just one month short of her 95th birthday. The Woodards’ passion and legacy of collecting and selling treasures continues with this first offering from BVAE of their collection. Some of the lots offered were purchased over 50 years ago. Their family wants these items back in the hands of others who will cherish their history like their parents had for over half a century.
