PELHAM, N.H. — Legare Auctions is offering more than 250 Royal Doulton ceramics in its upcoming online-only auction. Conducted on Auction Ninja, the timed sale starts to close at 7 pm on Thursday, March 21.

“This is a single-owner collection of 1,000-plus pieces being sold in lots. The sale features examples of Slater, Lambeth, Seriesware, Tobys, character mugs, decanters, a black basalt ware Dickens anniversary loving cup, figurines and reference books, including Charles D. Dana books from the early Twentieth Century, which inspired the Doulton Gibson Girl series,” said Leo Legare, auctioneer. “Amassed over decades, it is the most complete collection of Royal Doulton I have ever handled.”

“With such a large and diverse collection, picking out the highlights is challenging,” added Legare. “The very delicate Art Deco Slater vases and ewers are really beautiful, the Lambeth motto ware is fun, the vintage Cliff Cornell Tobys are nice and the variety of character mugs and sizes offers collectors an amazing array of options. The wide-ranging Seriesware lots, which include Shakespeare, Dickens, Coaching, Watchman, Hunting, The Cotswold Shepard and more, offer unusual serving pieces.”

The sale will also offer Wedgwood and other china.
