PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Show — one of the leading art and design fairs in the United States, known for the exceptional quality of its exhibitors and a signature fundraiser supporting the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) announces its 62nd edition.
Taking place April 25-28, it will once again be conducted on the grounds of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s East Terrace.
This year’s show features more than 40 US exhibitors, including six new exhibitors, specializing in fine art, collectible design, antiques, Americana, folk art, ceramics, porcelain, silver, jewelry, textiles and decorative arts. Dealers specializing in contemporary and underrepresented artists will also be featured this year along with additional programming leading up to, during and after the show. This includes four virtual programs; show tours; booth discussions; and a Children’s Art Table and Treasure Hunt.
“The Philadelphia Show has a proud and longstanding partnership with the PMA,” said Huntley Platt, manager of the Philadelphia Show. “The proceeds of the show support the museum’s learning and engagement division, helping to create educational opportunities that make the PMA a welcoming place for all visitors and specifically benefit the Pay What You Wish Family Festivals and year-round free admission for school groups from the school district of Philadelphia. I hope that the attendees will explore the wide range of works of art that the show’s fabulous dealers have for sale. It is a wonderful show to start a collection or buy your first piece. The range of objects, mediums and price points that the dealers bring to the show is vast. They present everything from fine art and prints, antique and modern furniture, decorative arts, Americana and folk art, rugs to American flags and jewelry. So, there’s something for everyone and it’s all top quality. The dealers have a wealth of knowledge and are eager to share their expertise with attendees.”
Throughout its six decades and counting, the Philadelphia Show has become a mainstay of the city’s ever-growing culture, art and design scene, serving as the go-to destination to experience, discuss and exhibit fine art, antiques and collectible design.
“The programming this year reflects the show’s commitment to supporting the work of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, specifically the museum’s learning and engagement division as well as the work of PMA curators,” said Amy Fox, chair of the Philadelphia Show. “There will be several programs in advance of the show and a panel discussion during the show featuring several of the show exhibitors who have also appeared on Antiques Roadshow as specialists in their fields along with Roadshow’s senior producer, Sam Farrell. They’ll discuss their favorite finds, which is sure to be wonderfully entertaining.”
Returning exhibitors include Jeff R. Bridgman American Antiques, Dolan/Maxwell, Kelly Kinzle Antiques, Peter Pap Rugs, Elle Shushan, James Robinson and more.
New exhibitors include European Decorative Arts Company, Bernard Goldberg Fine Arts, Hawthorne Fine Art, Rehs Galleries, John Keith Russell and Walker Decorative Arts.
“Over several decades, our gallery has witnessed the evolution of the Philadelphia Show and we are always impressed with both the level of dealers who participate and the quality of the works they exhibit,” said Howard Rehs, founder of Rehs Galleries. “We are excited to have been invited to participate in the 62nd edition and plan on displaying a wide range of exceptional works of art.”
