THOMASTON, MAINE — On Friday, April 19, at 10 am, Thomaston Place Auction Galleries will present “Home Décor & More,” a sale offering a diverse selection of antique and contemporary home furnishings. The 447-lot auction is designed to appeal to savvy decorators who enjoy repurposing vintage pieces or adding economical and sustainable accents to their home.
Thomaston Place Auction Galleries owner and auctioneer Kaja Veilleux said, “This is a great opportunity to buy well-made furnishings at affordable prices and be environmentally friendly at the same time. At this sale, everyone can afford to beautify and individualize their decor.”
Furniture styles will run from Queen Anne to modern, formal to country, and the auction will even include the eclectic and unusual. Many pieces on offer can be added to a home decorating scheme as is, and others are perfect candidates for restyling or repurposing to enhance their beauty and usefulness.

Featured furniture pieces include a folk art deck chair constructed from green enameled lobster trap wire, an antique French provincial painted settee, an Ethan Allen pencil post canopy bed, Pottery Barn sofa and matching pair of club chairs, an American Federal period drop leaf paw foot dining table in figured mahogany and a Nineteenth Century rosewood melodion piano case redesigned as a desk.

The sale will also include a wide selection of interesting home accessories, such as lighting, clocks, mirrors, carpets, paintings and prints, china sets, architectural items and garden sculptures.

The gallery will be open for previews Saturday, April 12 (12-4 pm). Monday through Thursday, April 15-18, from 9 am to 4 pm each day. Previewing will also be available on auction day, Friday, April 19, from 9 to 10 am.
