NORWOOD, N.J. — Sterling Auctions will offer the Carol A. Powers Christmas Collection on December 3.

Highlighting the sale is a 20-inch Santa candy container bearing a partial label of Huyler’s Chocolate & Candy Co., the largest chocolate maker in the United States from the 1860s to 1910.

Centered on Broadway in New York City, the firm operated a large chain of stores across the country. It is said that Milton Hershey worked for them in the 1880s.

Also in the sale are a number of Belsnickels, other candy containers, early glass ornaments and electric bulbs, Santas, brush trees, plastic, celluloid and other decorations.
