This auction promises to be one of the strongest on-site sales ever held in the Town of Ports-mouth, with all manner of antique furniture, furnishings and implements to be offered.
Most of the articles are at least 200 years old and there are no reproductions.
Among the pieces, which include articles long-housed in the Tiverton Historical Society are:
tavern tables, bedsteads, bookcases, blanket chests in original paint, weathervanes, corner cabinets, candlestands , sleds, child’s sleigh, carved flying goose, Queen Anne mirrors, well buckets, skillets, camp stoves, gin jugs , dometop chests, 18th C. agitator, peels, skimmers, early Portsmouth marriage certificate , stoneware, coverlets , Staffordshire historical plates.
Paintings by European and Rhode Island artists, ancestral portraits, folk art.
