Tuesday’s sale begins with Japanese ceramics including: Satsuma, Imari, a fine group of Kutani from an Olean, NY Collection, followed by netsuke, inro, ojime and sword furniture from a Groton, CT collection. Wednesday’s sale will feature prints from a western Massachusetts collection and a major New Jersey collection. Highlights include a superb group of prints by Paul Jacoulet as well as prints by Kawase Hasui, Hiroshi Yoshida, Helene Hyde, Lillian Miller, Charles Bartlettt, Elizabeth Keith, Hiroshige, Yoshitoshi, Kiyoshi Saito, and many others. Also included will be paintings by Jacoulet, Keith, Chikanobu, Tsuguharu, Forejita, and many others. Japanese arts will also include furniture and screens, Meiji bronzes, and cloisonné enamel, with an exceptional pair of five-foot vases. Thursday’s sale will include snuff bottles, jades, and jewelry. Friday’s sale will include ceramics, enamels, and scholar’s objects. Chief among the porcelain objects is an 18th Century Tibetan-style ewer with Qianlong mark, while a stand-out item in jades is a rare double ruyi scepter. Saturday’s auction will include furniture, fine paintings, Buddhistic bronzes and assorted vessels as well as a fine collection of Beijing glass from a Florida collection.
Also offered will be textiles, Korean items, sculpture, carpets, lacquer, and silver.
