Mr. Miller had a lifelong passion of history. His focus on the American Revolution expanded to the collecting of all types of military history from the revolution through WWII and later. He also collected other types of firearms and weapons. He was famous for his part of the Newburyport Militia leading up the Bicentennial and after partaking in many reenactments and parades over the years.

The Bass -Whitney House built in 1807 has been a depository of Americana since it was erected.
The Bass -Whitney’s preserved, without realizing it, perhaps a time capsule of the 150 years they lived here.
They sold the house to the Frank E. Millers in 1960. The Miller’s preserved many areas of the home
as The Bass-Whitney’s left it while adding their own history.
Auction to include paintings, furniture, clocks, pottery, fraktur’s, lighting and some selected additions!
