A fine selection of nine 19th and 20th C detailed ship models. Pieces were in storage for many years after the death of a noted Fall River nautical antique dealer. Collection includes a mid 19th C model of the sister ship of the USS Constitution, named the “Constellation”. Eight more models include a 19th C model of an American whaling ship, a 19th C model of a bark, an early 20th C replica of the 1920 American Naval warship “Niagara” (War of 1812, Lake Erie), early 20th C model of the steamship “Cape Cod”, 20th C model of the flatbed riverboat “Santa Clara”, two 20th C “J” boat models “Seeker” and “Ranger” and a two masthead schooner.

A large selection of 17th and early 18th century Shagreen will hightlight White’s November 20th sale. The pieces are from the personal collection of Nicholas M. Salgo, a Hungarian immigrant who became a principal in the financing, development and construction of the Watergate Complex built in the mid-1960’s and was chairman of the Watergate Companies until 1983. He served as Ambassador to Hungary under Ronald Reagan followed by many years as a State Department special negotiator on international property issues including sites for United States Embassies in Eastern European nations.
Approximately fifty pieces of American Art Pottery including a large Arthur Baggs Marblehead vase and Annie Lingley Grueby pot and several pieces from the Wendell and Susan Chamberlain collection (many sold in the October 2nd sale). Pieces included Fulper, Pewabic, Grueby, SEG, Dedham, Experimental Dedham and Chelsea Keramics, Rookwood, Roseville, Weller, Marblehead, Hampshire, etc.
