Born in France, Feron trained as a sculptor in Paris where he was considered a master craftsman and received several awards and prizes before moving to Costa Rica in 1934. There he sharpened his skills even more gaining the attention of a visitor, Nelson Rockefeller, who encouraged him to move to New York in 1946. After opening a studio in Manhattan, he designed jewelry for some of the world greatest names in jewelry including Tiffany, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rubel, Verdura, Schlumberger, Bronzini and David Webb. He also did design work for Steuben Glass Co. as well as commissions for Clare Boothe Luce, Jacqueline Kennedy and philanthropist Paul Mellon.
