This auction consists of 200 lots of leather, history, ephemera, fine art and archeology books. For those interested in the American Civil War, we have a large consignment of Civil War volumes from the collection of David A. Ward. Scholar, author, and Civil War guide, David’s collection focuses principally on the Union Army of the Potomac and Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. We also have a large number of fine art books from a Litchfield area artist and the scholarly books of a Connecticut archeologist with a focus on Central and South American native people. JUST ADDED: A lovely 1st edition copy of “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” in the rare blue cloth binding with the following 1st issue points: Title page and pp 283 are cancels; pp 13 (“88”); pp 57 (“with the was”); pp 155 last 5 is replaced; pp 9 chapter heading (“decided”); pp 161 no signature mark, and the Heliotype slug appears on the Twain bust. Housed in a new clamshell case bound in ½ blue morocco. See the website for photos.
