Merrill’s Auctioneers and Appraisers has been commissioned to sell a fine group of Contemporary Vermont Paintings for the benefit of the Rohr Foundation of Stowe, VT, including works by Rett Sturman and Wayne Wolfe.
We will also feature an excellent grouping of Modern Furniture including Thomas Moser, Stephen Huneck, and Simon Watts. An additional highlight will be a fine collection of Ethnographic materials descending from Albert Shaw (1857- 1947), Author, Historian, Editor of the Review of Reviews, and member of the American Antiquarian Society. We are also proud to present important outsider artist Henry Darger’s 1968 diary that captures the angst and despair of his daily life (found in his effects in an upstairs rented space in Chicago). Asian Furniture and Accessories, Jewelry, Oriental Carpets, Silver, Glass, and China will also be prominently represented.
