Millea Bros. welcomes Spring with a sale comprising ten individual single-owner collections. DAY 1 opens with Chinese arts from the collection of a New York Scholar, including Ming and Qing era paintings by important artists including Kuncan, Yun Shouping, and signed pottery by Shao Jingnan and Gu Jingzhou. Contemporary Chinese art includes Lui Shou Kwan, Huang Zhou, and four “Great Wall” landscapes by Cao Jigang.
An Antiquities collection features Byzantine gold jewelry, an Egyptian wood figure with museum provenance, and Pre-Columbian works. Art jewelry includes Flemming Eskildsen, Ed Wiener, Mary Kretsinger, and a signed Alexander Calder silver necklace. DAY 2 opens with art from the Collection of Hester Diamond including Mark Tobey, Larry Rivers, and Ryan McGinness. Museum quality works from the Collection of Litsa Tsitsera features Greek-American artists Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, Jean Xceron, Chryssa, and Theodoros Stamos. An Important NY Modern Art Collection offers works by Jim Dine, Louise Nevelson, Giacomo Balla, Camille Bombois, and Tony Rosenthal. Design highlights feature Louis Cane, Robsjohn-Gibbings for Saridis, Venini, Paavo Tynell, and a unique George Nakashima writing table. DAY 3 includes furnishings from the home of Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski, with Parish-Hadley custom designs and fine Jacobian and George III English furniture and folk art.
A large art glass and pottery group includes Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows and massive Greene & Greene lanterns. Art and
Continental antiques from 510 Park Ave include signed Louis XVI pieces, and art by Arthur B. Davies, Joseph Stella and Vuillard.
