GUILFORD, CONN. — Lotus International Auctions will present a holiday season online-only fine art auction, December 12, at noon. All bidding will be done through LiveAuctioneers. Bidding has already started.

The auction has 424 artworks: oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, lithographs, sculptures, folk art, Regina disk player and more. Henry Gasser’s “View to Monhegan Island Harbor (Maine)” reminds us of the isolation of the island, which is located 12 nautical miles off the mainland. Arthur Parton, a Hudson River painter, shows us grandeur of the peaceful natural scenic. Lowell Herrero brings his wit, humor and simplicity to his three paintings in this auction. Arthur Cumings shows us his multitalented abilities with a large number of illustrations and magazine covers offered from his estate.

There is a selection of Otto Antoine and Harry Hoffman from which to choose. Sears Gallagher’s watercolor of a small boy at the beach with sailboat sums up what summer days at the beach are for. With John William Hilton, one can feel the stillness of desert in his oil paintings. Diana Thorne and Lucy Dawson show off the talent of capturing the images of lovable cats and dogs.
There is a varied selection of serigraphs, etchings/aquatints, lithographs and works by Margaret Jordan Patterson (“Garden Flowers”), Philip Van Schantz (“Cranberries”), John James Laforest Audubon (Plate XVI, “Lnyx”), Augusta Renoir, Henri Fantin Latour, Harry A. Vincent, Lyman Byxbe, Robert Hogg Nisbit, Alfred Ray Burrell, Carl Vergangenhit, Elisha Kent Kane Wetherill and Currier prints, to name a few.
