MEDWAY, MASS. — Coyle’s Auction will offer a two-session antiques and estates auction on Tuesday, October 26. The fall auction will include an eclectic mix of antique furniture, collection of glass, artwork, bronzes, sterling silver, Oriental rugs, lighting, jewelry and more drawn from a Beacon Hill townhouse, an old Concord, Mass., home, together with selected additions from Lunenburg, Boston, and Providence, R.I., all sold without reserve.

Session 1 of the sale begins at 2:30 pm and will feature more than 15 Oriental rugs drawn from local estates to be sold outside in the pavilion. Indoors at the back of the hall will be a collection of vintage costume jewelry, large groups of Victorian miniature oil lamps, interesting estate lots — all from an old Mattapan home and more. In addition, a small private collection of vintage and antique buttons will be offered in this session.
Session 2 begins at 5 pm. Furniture offerings will feature an early Italian carved blanket box, small antique inlaid burl walnut chest, signed Josef Frank mahogany narrow library table with drawers, early Italian carved prie-dieu, two Barcelona-style leather and chrome chairs, Herschides nine-tube tall clock, acanthus-carved bench, custom bird’s-eye maple furniture, antique English furnishings and more.

A group of gold and diamond jewelry, Victorian and sterling jewelry, gold top cane, sterling silver flatware, including G. Jensen service for eight, cased pair of Whiting reticulated sterling footed bowls (Howard & Co retailers), silver by makers such as Tiffany and Co., Gorham, Whiting, Sciarrotta, Wallace, etc., will cross the block.

Items of special interest include a small private collection of antique bisque head dolls, including an EJ6 Jumeau in original condition with marked body as well as Kestner, Handwerck, Simon Halbig, etc., as well as some antique doll lots from a Mattapan home. Other items of special interest include a signed F. Bazin flying stork hood ornament and an autographed document signed by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.

Estate accessories and artwork will be highlighted by a collection of cut and Victorian glass, set of Minton Ancestral pattern china, pair of tall antique floor lamps, Weller jardiniere and pedestals (one elephant ear pattern), antique tea caddy, bronzes, estate smalls and more. Artwork including a number of estate oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, lithographs, etc., will highlight the fine art.
