NEW YORK CITY AND NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS — Having just wrapped up Asia Week New York with a successful round of exhibition previews in its New York salesroom, Lark Mason Associates is presenting its spring sale of Asian, ancient, ethnographic works of art sale, currently open for bidding through April 26 on iGavelAuctions.com.
Said Lark Mason, “We expect that enthusiastic response demonstrated by the collectors and curators during Asia Week New York will continue on for our superb online offerings for the next few weeks and anticipate significant attention and competitive bidding.”
Among the highlights of the 400 lots offered are an eight-fold coromandel lacquer screen with a scene of deer and figures in pavilions, dated to the 24th year of Kangxi (1686) ($80/100,000); a Korean Joseon dynasty gouache on silk painting of Gwoneum ($30/50,000); a pair of painted Tibetan Sutra covers, Qing dynasty and earlier ($20/30,000); Luo Zhongli, “Portrait of a Woman,” 1987, oil on canvas ($30/50,000); Luo Zhongli, “Portrait of a Man,” 1987, oil on canvas, 1987 ($30/50,000); large Tibetan copper alloy and iron Phurba, Seventeenth/Eighteenth Century ($15/25,000); Tibetan gilt-bronze, turquoise inset figure of Shadakshari Lokeshvara, Sixteenth Century ($5/8,000); and a large Chinese cloisonne hu-form jar, Eighteenth Century ($3/5,000).
The objects are on view at Lark Mason Associates, 210 West Mill Street, New Braunfels, Texas. The exhibition is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and by appointment only in the New York salesroom at 229 East 127th Street. For more information, www.igavelauctions.com.
