Dr. Bowen was a passionate and avid collector of antiques and was able to acquire a variety of high-end items and many other collectibles over the years.

NOTABLE ARTWORK:
William Meritt Chase – 4 pieces
1900 – Self Portrait and portrait of his wife signed – seen in Brooklyn Museum on exhibit
1875 – “The Smoker” or known as “The Man with the pipe”
1881 – Man with Beret or hat 1881 signed bottom right also etched in ink his name Chase on left side. Also, a message on bottom or artwork. This is a rare piece.

David Hayes
Local artist known in Coventry across the United States and abroad. He had his studio on South Street Coventry. Widely known for his welded art sculptures found in downtown Coventry, public and private collections across the USA & Europe and in his fields on South Street. He is also known for his modern abstract paintings in bright colors. Very few of his works are signed and dated. The piece at auction is a signed and dated in 1978 ink still life drawing of flowers looking outside from his kitchen window on South Street. This is rare because of its medium and it is signed and dated, and the scene is from South Street home and studio. He passed away in 2013 and since then the David Hayes Foundation has been continuing to celebrate the life works of David Hayes.
