ESSEX, MASS. — Blackwood/March Auctioneers has scheduled an online estates fine art and antiques estate auction for Tuesday, July 19, at 6 pm. Leading the artworks offered are two Paul Manship sculptures, “Perseus and Andromeda” and “Venus Andyomeme.” Both of the Manship works have descended though the family of the artist. Items consigned from the Westfield estate include an early Italian painting on wood titled “Ave Maria,” a Nineteenth Century English coaching oil, and numerous Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century documents.
Cape Ann art is well represented by works by Don Stone, Reynolds Beal, Ted Kautsky, Myron Clark, six oils by outsider artist Earle T. Merchant and William Meyerowitz, among many others. A collection of estate gold jewelry will be offered, including necklaces, bracelets and rings. Diverse accessories include an early Twentieth Century painted horse carving, a Louis Vuitton trunk and a rare Peter Pan portfolio by Arthur Rackham.
